Updates on crane and BLE-RC project
Crane
New faster motor arrived! It’s going to solve the speed problem of lateral crane movement, which was too low with the motor I had. The new one is rated for 3000RPM at 12V. I’m running it at ~5V, measured RPM is 1200, about 3 times faster than previous one (that was rated 840RPM at 12V). Speed is not good enough. A minor problem is that the crane wobbles at max speed due to M2 leadscrew being bent like a corkscrew. I can live with this.
Also a spool of fishing line arrived. It’s non-braided, so the line doesn’t tangle, but it’s too stiff to work well with no load. Going to try another fishing line which is considered elastic.
Details about this crane line journey can be read here.
BLE-RC
I called the designed finished and tried to order the manufacturing of the PCB.
For some reason, JLCPCB decided that my 10x14mm PCB will weigh 2Kg, so I was left out of all the economy shipping options. I’ve reached out for tech support, waiting for response, but if they don’t help, I’ll give up on their SMT service and will try to assemble it myself.
