While taking a small break from trucks, I turned to a project I wanted to make for a long time, a parabolic satellite dish.

After 2 evenings I made a model and separated it into printable parts.

"Printable" is not optimal here, as I didn’t want to make a lot of separate objects, so the dish with most of the struts only has 2 half-domes.

This caused the struts and framework to not have optimal orientation for printing with huge amount of overhangs. Hopefully this will not be much visible, otherwise the model would need to be split into hundred of parts.

The dish framework was rather complicated to model as no part is parallel to other part, so there a lot of Sketches at arbitrary angles. "Plane through 3 points" command is used extensively throughout the design.
