Review: SirayaTech Fast Navy Grey resin
After 2 years or resin printing I finally ran out of resin that came with my printer, which was Anycybic Standard Grey. I switched to SirayaTech Fast (ABS-like) line, in particular Navy Grey, as it seems SirayaTech has quality products with good reviews, and is frequently used for model making. I bought Navy Grey in particular because it’s said to not not inhibit curing of platinum-based silicones (compared to a lot of other resins which do, due to containing some phosphor components. Platinum silicones are rather whimsical as it turns out).

What I discovered so far from 2 prints that I did with a new resin:
-
Surface quality seems good. Though I disabled anti-aliasing, so voxels are more pronounced.
-
It is more flexible than Anycubic one. Which is good.
-
It requires thicker supports. I used 0.3mm ball supports for small models, the same supports for SirayaTech detached from model heavily. It’s bad, but:
-
It deforms less. Even when some supports failed (see above), the model turned out correct with no deformation. I think Anycubic one would deform or delaminate with thi amount of failed supports. This is also good.
-
Settings provided by manufacturer mostly work, though suggested lifting speed of 1mm/s makes it very slow, around 2 times slower than I printed with Anycybic resin. I’ll try to tune the speed more.
I haven’t tested whether it doesn’t inhibition silicone curing as I’ve already switched to tin-based silicone. That is not inhibited by photopolymer resins, even my old Anycybic one.
P.S. SirayaTech line naming is problematic, as some "colors" within the same line of products are in fact completely different products. Navy Grey color of Fast line, for example, has its own settings compared to the rest, due to having thicker pigment (and apparently different photoinitiator which makes it usable with platinum silicone). Fast Mecha White is a ceramics-filled resin with completely different properties to the rest of Fast line.
I will update the post for more details as the time passes.
