The goal is to make a animated antenna dish which can be placed on a diorama. The dish can serve as a (radio)telescope or a satellite communication system.

The structure should not be too large or it will domintate any layout.

I chose the prototype to be the "Orbita" satellite communication system which powered Soviet TV in late 80s. Its antenna is seemingly called TNA-57 and is also used for communicating with satellites to this day.

I chose a random dish size of 13cm, and incidentally it turned out to be matching the size of a real antenna (which is 12m)

As part of this project I want to try to use mechanics of RC servo but control its motor manually from a microcontroller (reading its built-in potentiometer values) Hopefully this way movement will be smooth and slow.
